Joaquim Mir Trinxet (1873, 1940) was a celebrated Catalan painter known for his vibrant, expressive landscapes that captured the rugged terrain and luminous light of rural Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. A leading figure of Catalan Modernisme, he studied at the Escola de Belles Arts de Barcelona and later evolved toward a highly personal, almost fauvistic use of color. His works are highly sought after at auction, particularly his panoramic views of Tarragona, Camp de Tarragona, and Mallorca.
