Rómulo Macció (1931, 2016) was a leading Argentine painter associated with the Nueva Figuración movement, which emerged in Buenos Aires in the early 1960s as a reaction against geometric abstraction. Self-taught, he developed a distinctive style blending figuration and abstraction, often featuring fragmented human forms rendered in bold, gestural brushwork. His works have been exhibited internationally and are held in major Latin American collections, with his paintings regularly appearing at leading auction houses such as Christie's, Sotheby's, and Arroyo.
