William Gouw Ferguson (1632, 1695) was a Scottish still-life painter who spent much of his career working in the Netherlands and England, becoming one of the few British artists of his era to excel in the Dutch tradition of still-life painting. He is best known for his meticulously detailed compositions featuring dead game, birds, and hunting trophies, rendered with the naturalistic precision characteristic of Flemish and Dutch masters. His works have appeared at major auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's, where they are prized by collectors of 17th-century European still life.
