Bikash Bhattacharjee was an Indian painter from Kolkata known for his unflinching portrayals of middle-class Bengali life, exploring themes of aspiration, superstition, hypocrisy, and urban violence. He worked across multiple media including oils, acrylics, watercolours, conté, and collage. In 2003, he was awarded the prestigious Lalit Kala Akademi Fellowship, India's highest national arts honor.
