Antonio Blanco (1912, 1999) was a flamboyant Filipino-American painter celebrated for his sensuous depictions of Balinese women, mythology, and tropical landscapes. He settled permanently in Ubud, Bali in 1952, where he built a lavish studio-home that became a cultural landmark and is now the Blanco Renaissance Museum. His richly detailed, romantically charged works drew comparisons to the Old Masters and earned him a devoted international following among collectors.
