Dara Birnbaum

Dara Birnbaum is a pioneering video artist who deconstructs television imagery and mass media representations, particularly of women, through appropriation, repetition, and editing techniques. Her "Technology/Transformation: Wonder Woman" (1978-79) is a foundational work of video art and feminist media critique. Her work is held in collections including MoMA, the Whitney, and Centre Pompidou.
