JeeYoung Lee is a South Korean artist known for her elaborate, hand-crafted theatrical sets that she constructs entirely within her small studio in Seoul, which she then photographs herself within. Her immersive tableaux vivants draw on personal narrative, Korean folklore, dreams, and psychological states, transforming confined physical spaces into fantastical worlds that explore themes of memory, transformation, and the human condition. Her meticulously constructed scenes, which can take months to build, blur the boundaries between photography, installation, and performance.
