Leopoldo Mendez

Leopoldo Méndez (1902-1992) was a prominent Mexican graphic artist and printmaker known for his political and social commentary through art. He was a founding member of the Taller de Gráfica Popular and used woodcuts and lithography to create powerful images addressing social injustice and Mexican identity. His work was instrumental in the development of Mexican modern printmaking.
