70" Dodecahedron
2025
A monumental 70-inch dodecahedron sculpture by Anthony James, composed of twelve pentagonal glass-and-steel faces filled with an intricate internal lattice of gold-toned geometric patterning illuminated by warm LED light. The work references sacred geometry and crystalline structures, creating a mesmerizing infinity-mirror-like interior visible through each faceted panel. Mounted on a low black plinth, the sculpture is sited outdoors in Downtown Washington, D.C., in front of a neoclassical civic building. James is known for large-scale geometric light sculptures that merge mathematical precision with transcendent visual experience.

A small placard and QR code are visible at the base of the sculpture in the artwork photo but text is not legible at this resolution. A red sculptural element (possibly another artwork) is partially visible to the left. The background building appears to be a neoclassical public institution in Downtown DC.
