Open clasp
2014
Open Clasp is a monumental unique sculpture by British artist Antony Gormley, constructed from 4 mm Corten steel and standing nearly two metres tall. The work depicts a standing human figure assembled entirely from interlocking geometric blocks and rectangular volumes, embodying Gormley's signature exploration of the body as architectural form. The oxidised steel surface lends the piece a rich, darkened patina that reinforces its sense of material weight and physical presence. Hand signed by the artist and accompanied by a gallery issued Certificate of Authenticity, this is a singular work of exceptional rarity.
