Ilya Bolotowsky (1907–1981) was a Russian-born American abstract painter and a founding member of the American Abstract Artists group, known for his rigorous geometric abstractions influenced by Piet Mondrian's neoplasticism. He developed a distinctive style characterized by primary colors, clean lines, and precise rectangular compositions, often working within diamond, tondo, and vertical formats. Bolotowsky was a significant figure in the development of American geometric abstraction and also created large-scale murals for public spaces during the WPA era.
