Sokov was a sculptor and founding figure of Sots Art, creating works that juxtaposed Soviet and American icons. His sculptures such as "Lenin and Giacometti" hybridized political symbols with art historical references. He exhibited at MoMA, the Guggenheim, and the State Tretyakov Gallery.
