Lozano was a Conceptual artist known for her bold abstract paintings, tool drawings, and radical performance-based works including 'Dropout Piece' (1970), in which she withdrew from the art world entirely. Her practice investigated language, systems, and consciousness, challenging gender politics and institutional structures. Major retrospectives have been held at MoMA PS1 and the Museo Reina Sofía.
