Lawrence Calcagno (1913–1993) was an American Abstract Expressionist painter known for his lyrical, gestural canvases that blended color field sensibilities with spontaneous mark-making. Influenced by travels to Asia, North Africa, and the Pacific, his work often evoked landscape and light through luminous, atmospheric compositions. He was associated with the New York School and exhibited widely during the height of the Abstract Expressionist movement.
