Doug Starn and Mike Starn

Doug and Mike Starn are twin brothers born in 1961 who have collaborated as artists since the mid-1980s, pioneering innovative approaches to photography by manipulating, tearing, taping, and layering photographic prints into large-scale installations and assemblages. Their work blurs the boundaries between photography, painting, and sculpture, often exploring themes of impermanence, spirituality, and the nature of light. They gained international recognition after winning the Turner Prize nomination equivalent attention and are represented in major museum collections worldwide.
