Amédée Ozenfant (1886–1966) was a French painter and art theorist who co-founded Purism alongside Le Corbusier, advocating for a disciplined, machine-age aesthetic that refined and corrected the excesses of Cubism. He authored the influential manifesto 'Après le Cubisme' (1918) and later 'Art' (1928), establishing himself as a key intellectual figure in the European avant-garde. Ozenfant founded art schools in London and New York, spreading his rationalist vision of modern painting internationally.
