Maurizio Anzeri

Maurizio Anzeri is an Italian artist known for his distinctive practice of embroidering intricate geometric and abstract thread patterns directly onto found vintage photographs, transforming anonymous portraiture into otherworldly, mask-like figures. Born in Suelli, Sardinia, he studied at the Royal College of Art in London, where he subsequently based his practice. His work occupies a space between photography, textile art, and sculpture, exploring themes of identity, memory, and the obscured self.
