Michael David — View of the Harbor

View of the Harbor

2002

A moody, atmospheric seascape rendered in oil on panel, depicting rooftops of coastal dwellings in the foreground with an expansive harbor and overcast sky beyond. Executed in a subdued, near-monochromatic palette of grays, the composition captures the quiet stillness of Provincetown's off-season. Small vessels are visible on the water, and a crescent moon hovers faintly in the brooding sky. The work was exhibited in Michael David's solo show 'Off Season: Paintings of Provincetown' at the Albert Merola Gallery in 2003.
