Blinky Palermo, born Peter Heisterkamp, was a German artist associated with the post-war avant-garde who studied under Joseph Beuys at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. He developed a distinctive minimalist practice that explored color, form, and the relationship between painting and its environment through fabric works, wall paintings, and shaped canvases. His deceptively simple yet conceptually rich work bridged European abstraction and American Minimalism, earning him posthumous recognition as one of the most significant German artists of the 20th century.
