Keith Vaughan (1912–1977) was a British painter celebrated for his deeply personal depictions of the male nude set within landscape, executed in richly worked oils and gouaches. A largely self-taught artist, he became a key figure in the Neo-Romantic movement in Britain during and after World War II, exhibiting widely and earning critical acclaim throughout the 1950s and 1960s. His diaries, published posthumously, are considered an important literary document alongside his visual legacy.
