Ishiuchi Miyako (born 1947) is a celebrated Japanese photographer known for her deeply intimate and poetic explorations of the human body, time, and memory. She gained international recognition for series such as 'Mother's' (2000–2005), in which she photographed her deceased mother's clothing and personal belongings, and 'Frida' (2012), featuring the personal effects of Frida Kahlo. Her work investigates the traces that people leave behind on objects and skin, using photography as a medium to confront mortality, identity, and the passage of time.
