Francisque Poulbot (1879–1946) was a French illustrator and painter best known for his affectionate and humorous depictions of Parisian street children, particularly those from the Montmartre neighborhood. His charming, sentimental images of ragged but spirited urchins became so iconic that the word 'poulbot' entered the French language as a synonym for a Montmartre street kid. Beyond his art, he was a committed humanitarian who opened a clinic in Montmartre for underprivileged children.
