Fernando de Szyszlo

De Szyszlo created abstract paintings that synthesized modernist formal concerns with pre-Columbian imagery and Peruvian cultural memory. His work bridged European abstraction and Latin American identity. He exhibited internationally and is considered Peru's most important modern painter, represented in major museum collections.
