Dado, born Miodrag Đurić in 1933 in Cetinje, Montenegro, was a Yugoslav-French painter known for his intensely detailed, nightmarish figurative works blending surrealism with raw expressionist energy. He spent most of his career in France, where he gained recognition through gallerist Jean Dubuffet and developed a distinctive style populated by grotesque, fragmented figures and organic forms. His work frequently appeared at major auction houses and was celebrated for its obsessive, visionary quality rooted in personal trauma and dark imagination.
