Burgoyne Diller (1906, 1965) was an American abstract artist and one of the earliest and most committed American practitioners of Neo-Plasticism, the geometric abstract style developed by Piet Mondrian. Working primarily in painting, sculpture, and works on paper, Diller organized his compositions into three distinct 'Themes' based on varying arrangements of line, plane, and color. As a leading figure in the American Abstract Artists group and a key administrator of the WPA Federal Art Project in New York, he played a pivotal role in promoting modernist abstraction in the United States.
