Reformers
In *Reformers*, Dana Schutz employs her signature frenetic brushwork and vivid, clashing palette to depict figures caught in a state of urgent, almost convulsive transformation. The human forms appear simultaneously fragmented and interconnected, dissolving into one another as flesh, gesture, and color collapse into a charged, chaotic whole. Schutz's characteristically compressed pictorial space amplifies the sense of collective struggle, suggesting both the violence and the vitality inherent in the act of change.
