Wolfgang-Adam Töpffer was a Swiss painter renowned for his landscapes and watercolor works during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Based in Geneva, he developed a delicate naturalistic style that captured the Swiss countryside and its surroundings. He is also remembered as the father of Rodolphe Töpffer, the pioneering illustrator often credited as the 'father of the comic book'.
