Wojciech Fangor

Wojciech Fangor (1922, 2015) was a pioneering Polish artist renowned for his optically dynamic paintings featuring soft-edged, concentric forms that create powerful illusions of depth and movement. Working across painting, poster design, and installation, he became a key figure in Op Art, gaining international recognition after his landmark solo exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum in 1970. His work bridged the Polish avant-garde tradition and the broader Western art world, earning him a place among the most significant European artists of the 20th century.
