Wang Pan-Youn (1935–2016) was a pioneering Taiwanese abstract painter who studied in Paris during the 1960s and became a leading figure in the Taiwanese modernist movement. His works are characterized by lyrical abstraction, bold gestural brushwork, and a synthesis of Eastern ink painting traditions with Western abstract expressionism. His paintings have appeared regularly at major Asian auction houses including Ravenel and Sotheby's Hong Kong.
