Sergio Camargo (1930–1990) was a Brazilian sculptor renowned for his meticulously crafted reliefs composed of cylindrical and semi-cylindrical forms arranged on flat surfaces, creating dynamic interplays of light and shadow. Working primarily in white-painted wood and marble, his abstract geometric works are deeply influenced by Constructivism and his time studying and working in Europe, particularly in Paris where he was associated with artists such as Brancusi and Vantongerloo. Camargo is considered one of the most significant Brazilian artists of the twentieth century and a central figure in Latin American Concrete and Neoconcrete art.
