Satish Gujral (1925, 2020) was one of India's most celebrated multidisciplinary artists, known for his emotionally charged paintings, murals, sculptures, and architectural works. Profoundly influenced by his childhood deafness and the trauma of Partition, his work often explored themes of suffering, displacement, and the human condition. He received India's highest civilian honor, the Padma Vibhushan, and his paintings have achieved significant results at major international auction houses including Sotheby's and Christie's.
