Robert Graham

Robert Graham (1938–2008) was an American sculptor renowned for his highly refined figurative bronze works, particularly his depictions of the human form rendered with a distinctive blend of classical idealism and modern minimalism. He gained widespread recognition for major public commissions, including the bronze doors of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles and the Joe Louis Memorial fist sculpture in Detroit. Graham's intimate bronze figures, often small in scale and placed on architectural pedestals, bridged the gap between classical sculpture traditions and contemporary sensibility.
