Richard Mosse is an Irish conceptual documentary photographer known for his use of unconventional imaging technologies to document conflict zones, humanitarian crises, and environmental collapse. He rose to international prominence with his series 'Infra' (2010–2012), which used discontinued Kodak Aerochrome infrared film to photograph the war in the Democratic Republic of Congo, rendering lush vegetation in vivid magentas and pinks. His work challenges the aesthetics and ethics of war photography, raising questions about visibility, empathy, and the limits of representation.
