Martin Szekely is a French designer born in 1956, known for his minimalist and conceptual approach to functional objects and furniture. He studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and rose to prominence in the 1980s with his iconic Pi chaise longue. His work blurs the boundary between design and fine art, and is held in major museum collections including the Centre Pompidou and MoMA.
