John Moran

John Moran (1821, 1903) was an American landscape painter known for his Hudson River School-influenced works depicting the natural scenery of the American wilderness, coastal scenes, and pastoral environments. He was the lesser-known brother of the more famous Thomas Moran, yet carved out his own reputation as a skilled painter of serene and luminous landscapes. His works are held in various American collections and have appeared in auction houses including Phillips.
