Gillian Wearing

Gillian Wearing works in photography, video, and film, exploring identity, confession, and social documentary through often participatory methods. She won the Turner Prize in 1997 and is known for works like "Signs that say what you want them to say and not Signs that say what someone else wants you to say." Her work is in the collections of the Tate, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
