Fred Wilson creates conceptual interventions in museum collections that expose hidden histories of colonialism, slavery, and institutional bias. His landmark project "Mining the Museum" reconfigured the Maryland Historical Society's collection to reveal suppressed narratives. He represented the United States at the Venice Biennale and his work is held by major museums.
