Francis Ruyter is an American painter and gallerist born in Washington, DC, known for his photographic source-based paintings that draw comparisons to Pop art. In 2002, he created a billboard work as part of MoMA Projects 77, cementing his presence in contemporary American art. His work is held in the permanent collections of major institutions including the Museum of Modern Art (New York), SFMOMA, the Pérez Art Museum Miami, and the Denver Art Museum.
