Ed Paschke (1939–2004) was a Chicago-based painter widely regarded as a central figure of the Chicago Imagist movement, known for his vivid, electric imagery that blended pop culture, mass media, and the grotesque with a psychedelic color palette. His work featured distorted, neon-hued figures drawn from television, advertising, tattoo culture, and the fringes of society, creating an unsettling yet mesmerizing visual language. Paschke taught for decades at Northwestern University and played a formative role in shaping Chicago's distinctive artistic identity.
