Carol Rama

A pioneering feminist artist, Rama created provocative paintings and assemblages addressing sexuality, disability, and the body. Her work using animal parts, syringes, and unconventional materials challenged postwar Italian culture. She received a Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale in 2003.
