Amelia Peláez

Peláez synthesized European modernism with Cuban decorative traditions, creating paintings featuring bold black outlines, vibrant colors, and motifs from colonial architecture and stained glass. Her distinctive style combined Cubist fragmentation with tropical imagery. She is considered one of Cuba's most important modernists and is held in major Latin American collections.
