Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse was a prominent French sculptor of the 19th century, celebrated for his decorative and figurative works in bronze, terracotta, and marble. He was one of the founding members of the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts and served as artistic director at the Sèvres porcelain manufactory. A highly influential figure, he also mentored Auguste Rodin early in the sculptor's career.
