Al Hansen (1927–1995) was an American avant-garde artist and a central figure in the Fluxus movement, known for his happenings, performances, and assemblage works. He is perhaps best recognized for his Venus figures constructed from crushed Hershey chocolate bar wrappers and other found materials, blending humor, chance, and consumer culture. Hansen was a pivotal force in experimental art in New York and Europe, studying under John Cage and influencing generations of artists, including his granddaughter Beck Hansen (Beck).
