Geneviève Claisse (1935–2018) was a French abstract painter and designer known for her rigorous geometric compositions rooted in the tradition of Concrete art. A grandniece and close collaborator of Auguste Herbin, she developed a distinctive visual language of circles, arcs, and interlocking color fields that explored rhythm, movement, and optical sensation. Her work bridges post-war European geometric abstraction and kinetic art, earning her recognition in major international collections and a renewed surge of critical attention in the years before her death.
