Tom Blackwell

Tom Blackwell (1938–2020) was an American Photorealist painter known for his highly detailed depictions of motorcycles and storefront reflections, capturing the gleaming surfaces and urban commercial imagery of American life. He was a key figure in the Photorealism movement that emerged in the late 1960s and 1970s, alongside artists such as Richard Estes and Chuck Close. His meticulous technique involved working from photographs to render chrome, glass, and reflective surfaces with extraordinary precision.
