Untitled (AS34)
2014
A substantial stoneware vessel by Los Angeles-based ceramicist Adam Silverman, featuring a rounded ovoid body with a dark, heavily textured surface achieved through high-fire reduction firing. The exterior displays dramatic volcanic glaze effects in deep charcoal, blue-grey, and warm terracotta tones, with a striking cluster of crystallized glaze buildup creating a naturalistic focal point. The broad shoulder transitions to a short, ribbed collar neck with an unglazed rim revealing the raw clay body. Completed in 2014, this unique work was donated to Art Project Los Angeles benefiting AIDS Project Los Angeles, with a stated value of $3,500.
