Sonia Delaunay (1885, 1979) was a pioneering Ukrainian-French artist celebrated for her bold use of color and geometric abstraction, which she applied across painting, textile design, fashion, and decorative arts. A co-founder of the Orphism movement alongside her husband Robert Delaunay, she developed a distinctive visual language known as Simultanism, based on the dynamic interaction of contrasting colors. Her innovative integration of fine and applied arts made her a major figure in both the European avant-garde and the history of modern design.
