Samuel Colman (1832–1920) was an American painter and decorative artist renowned for his luminous landscapes of the American West, Europe, and North Africa. A founding member of the American Watercolor Society, he was deeply influenced by the Hudson River School yet developed a distinctly personal style blending Orientalist exoticism with meticulous natural observation. He also collaborated with Louis Comfort Tiffany on interior design projects, reflecting his wide-ranging artistic talents.
