Ronald Davis (born 1937) is an American abstract painter associated with the Los Angeles art scene of the 1960s and a key figure in the development of shaped canvas and illusionistic abstraction. He is best known for his large-scale geometric paintings that create striking three-dimensional spatial illusions using flat color fields, often employing polyester resin and fiberglass as his medium. Davis has been closely linked to the Finish Fetish movement and Los Angeles hard-edge abstraction, and his work has been exhibited internationally and collected by major institutions.
