Richard Lin

Richard Lin (Lin Shou-yu, 1933–2011) was a Taiwanese-British artist celebrated for his minimalist paintings that merge Eastern philosophical sensibilities with Western abstract traditions. Working primarily in oil and mixed media, he created spare, meditative compositions featuring delicate lines and subtle textures on monochromatic grounds, often incorporating materials such as wax and pencil. His work gained significant international recognition and was collected by major institutions, bridging the gap between Zen aesthetics and European Minimalism.
